Monocoat Sealer 707

We recommend that you treat the Shou Sugi Ban with Rubio Monoat Sealer 707. This is a specially formulated water-based wood finish.
 
It strengthens brittle surfaces, is extremely durable and has excellent water resistance. Also important to note is that the coating does not yellow and dries almost invisibly after application.
 
The coating is almost odourless on application and can therefore be used on both indoor and outdoor applications. Application is preferably by spray. A brush can be used, but is not warmly recommended because of the fragile nature of Shou Sugi Ban.
 
As an indication (please test in advance at first plank):
 
Consumption is approximately 150 ml/m2 per coat. Normally 2 coats are sufficient, sometimes a third coat is needed. Pay attention to any screw holes.
 
Monocoat 707 can be stored up to 12 months in the original packaging.
